This year’s Star Wars Celebration is now well underway and what's perhaps its biggest panel has already concluded. As you surely know, it showcased Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, which is set to finally cap off the Sequel Trilogy and the Skywalker Saga as a whole.
The initial teaser trailer for Spider-Man: Far From Home gave fans their first glorious look at Jake Gyllenhaal’s Mysterio. However, while the supervillain’s suit was revealed in a quick action sequence at the end of the preview, a full glimpse at the comic-accurate costume has not been officially released. Fortunately, then, a piece of promo art for the film that's been leaked online reveals Mysterio’s full getup in all its glory, including his trademark fishbowl helmet.
Over the past decade, The Marvel Cinematic Universe has grown into the most successful movie franchise of all-time. There has been almost two dozens released under the Marvel Studios banner, all of which have succeeded with critics, fans and at the box office. It all began with Jon Favreau's Iron Man, which was released almost 11 years ago in 2008. The film starred Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark, who blew the world away with his compelling performance. Now, it's hard to even imagine any other actor filling these heavy iron boots. With Avengers: Endgame set to feature Downey Jr. portraying the beloved Marvel Comics character for the final time, it's now an appropriate time to look back at the first Iron Man film that still manages to hold up to today's standards.
While two highly-anticipated superhero events — Avengers: Endgame and Shazam! — are releasing in theaters less than a month from now, there is a third movie sitting in the shadows. Years after filmmaker Guillermo Del Toro made two films based on the Dark Horse Comics character Hellboy, Lionsgate is releasing a new Hellboy reboot next month. Unfortunately for fans of Del Toro's unique spin on the half-demon superhero, Ron Perlman will not be reprising his role but instead be replaced by David Harbour.
Avengers: Infinity War shocked the world last year by concluding with one of the most effective and powerful endings in cinematic history. Rather than the Avengers defeating Thanos and saving the day once again, the Mad Titan gathered all six Infinity Stones by the end of the film and wiped out half of all living things in the universe. This made for an emotional and grim last couple of minutes as fans had to watch some of their favorite Marvel heroes fade away to dust. Almost a year later, people are still talking about Thanos’ snap, which left a significant imprint on the world of pop culture.
With only two small appearances in the DC Extended Universe so far, fans were hoping to see more of what Ezra Miller would be bring to the table as Barry Allen. While a solo movie starring the Scarlet Speedster has been on the table for years now, the film has yet to enter production with a finished script. Yesterday, however, it was reported that Miller is taking things into his own hands and working on a script alongside Grant Morrison, who's notoriously famous for writing comic books for DC Comics over the past 25 years.
After watching Captain Marvel, fans might have noticed something a bit strange. None of the characters ever referred to Carol Danvers by her recognizable codename, even though it's explicitly the title of the movie. Many fans have speculated online about when or where the new Marvel hero will pick up the superhero nickname and one person on Reddit believes that Carol will begin being referred to as "Captain Marvel" in Avengers: Endgame.
